Introducing the P4P Team: Meet Alex!

Introducing Alex Sandoval, Media & Outreach Coordinator on this summer’s Pedal for Purpose cycling trip. Alex will be blogging and tweeting to keep you updated on the latest news from the road as the team cycles across the country and hosts BAP events from coast to coast.
Alex is excited to start the trip, and here’s why:
What is your favorite thing about your hometown?
My hometown taught me to stand up for myself and be ready to face unforeseen challenges. I’m grateful to North Hollywood for that.

Where is the farthest you’ve traveled from home?

The farthest I have traveled from home has been Bucknell University in Pennsylvania. Coming from Los Angeles, Bucknell seemed like the other side of the world.

Why are you coming on this summer trip?

I really enjoy helping people and I wanted to do something that was going to impact people’s lives. I believe that BAP will give me the opportunity to do that. I also love to travel and explore new places. I see myself traveling to different parts of the world in the future and I see this as a killing-two-birds-with-one-stone type of thing.

What nonessential object will you absolutely bring with you on the road?

My music. I love music and I listen to music at least half of my day, everyday. It’s really crazy. I love all types of music and I hope the rest of the BAP team doesn’t get annoyed with my music!

What will you miss most on the trip?

I will absolutely miss my family. I don’t see them often and the only time I really get to spend time with them is in the summer, so that’s going to be something I’m really going to miss.

Besides BAP events, what are you most looking forward to in each new place?

The experience of getting to travel across the country. I’ve always wanted to do it and I’m really excited for it. I’m sure there are going to be cities that look very scary, but I’m also sure there are going to be cities that are amazing and I can’t wait.
